The Armstrong McCall Corpus Christi hair show connected Texas-based Farouk Systems’ artists with local hairdressers and provided an open atmosphere for learning new techniques and networking. On opening day, Farouk Shami made an onstage appearance with Joe Anthony Pena and shared how his love for hairdressing led him to launch the first line of ammonia-free hair color. Joe Anthony revealed his hairdressing journey to a packed audience, mentioning that when he first joined the Farouk Systems’ family, Farouk provided mentorship and encouraged him to “Use what I use and do what I do.”

Additional featured artists at Corpus Christi included Anna Cantu on the main stage, Andrew Guerra and Ashley Wood in the classroom and Efrain Leiva and Melissa Reyes at the accessory booth. The artist’s common goal of elevating fellow hairdressers by providing them with the tools and products to create beautiful hair was visible throughout the show and resulted in a win on the sales floor. Farouk Systems was named #1 Vendor in total sales at the show!

On Sunday evening, Farouk Systems joined with Armstrong McCall and hosted a “Big Texas Hair” Party for more than 200 show attendees. The event featured a live onstage contest in which stylists had the opportunity to create an over-the-top Texas style in the hopes of winning a new DURA CHI Dryer and G2 Hairstyling Iron. After 5 rounds, stylist Christina Adams from Cibolo, TX won the top spot and was able to share the special moment with her model and daughter, Kylee Garcia.
