Hurricane Relief Palooza – helps parents while entertaining kids

NEW BERN, NC (WITN) _ The halls of Two Rivers Church in New Bern was packed Friday evening with parents and kids alike taking part in the first of the two day Hurricane Relief Palooza.

The event was organized by Carrie on NC, a local Craven County Non-Profit that focuses on a number of issues surrounding kids, with the goal of helping parents and giving kids a fun experience just before Halloween.

Those who attended walked away with a free gift bag provided by Farouk Systems Inc., with like a hairdryer, shampoos and hairspray. “We’re just trying to bring some relief efforts and to bring joy. That’s our big thing, bringing joy to kids lives, we’re trying to bring more than just the normal basic needs, we’re trying to bring things people don’t think about,” said Brittaney Ratzlaff, the founder and President of Carrie on NC. Parents were also given the chance to look through donated clothes to help replace things lost during the storm.

“It shows you that you have a lot of good people with good hearts, because a lot of people who do these things are volunteers and they don’t have to do it, and a lot of donations are given, which people don’t have to do, so it shows me that there are still good people in the world,” said Andrea White, who attended the event with her family.

Hurricane Relief Palooza continues Saturday at the New Life Church in New Bern off Old Cherry Point Rd. Volunteers and organizers will be there from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and will be giving out more free and donated items, and will provide fun and games for children.

Farouk Systems, Inc. recently hosted a Creative Artistic Team (CAT) Training for over 100 International Brand Ambassadors from  four continents at their home base in Houston, TX.  The two-day training showcased the latest salon color and cutting trends from around the world. Guests also enjoyed a VIP tour of the company’s manufacturing, laboratories, and production lines so they could see firsthand how hair color and hair care is made – from the mixing stages in the lab to final packaging on the production line.  To kick start the event, Dr. Farouk Shami, founder of Farouk, hosted a welcome dinner at his home in the Woodlands, TX.

During the CAT Training, each International Brand Ambassador participated in hands-on classes that featured the new CHI Chromashine with Chroma Intense Dye Technology that provides shiny, longer lasting color results.  Stylists learned to become mixologists and how to create color formulations with the 9-shade system using primary and secondary colors to create any color they could imagine.

Lead Global Artists Anna Cantu and Cynthia Diersen’s Trend Class included painting, smudging, and blending techniques that created soft seamless color.  While Creative Director Patrick Kalle and Canadian Hairdresser of the Year, Rocky Vitelli, shared the new Stardust Trend from Holland that featured bold bright color tones with a mix of texture.  The looks focused on short and long hair using the client’s natural texture.

During the recent Fantastic Sams’ Convention held on September 30 – October 2, 2018 in Las Vegas at the Red Rock Casino and Resort, Farouk Systems Inc. was on hand to launch its new partnership with the company as the new corporate salon exclusive tool partner. To celebrate, Farouk Systems raffled off a 2018 custom made, red CHI Ford Mustang valued at $29,000. The lucky winners were franchise owners from the Raytron Region – Yolly and Wayne Gillespie.

As part of the festivities, Rocky Vitelli, a CHI Global Artist, was a guest speaker sharing his knowledge and experience during the 3-day educational event. He talked about the new styling trends for Fall using the CHI Lava Flat Iron. Also, on hand to support Fantastic Sams’ was Dr. Farouk Shami, who provided a motivational speech for all the attendees, and Stuart Feldshon, Farouk Systems’ President of North America Sales. From Esquire Grooming, Trevelle Baker shared the latest barbering trends and techniques utilizing the Esquire Brand.

According to Dr. Farouk Shami, “This was also a special celebration for us as Fantastic Sams is our new corporate salon exclusive tool partner. We will now be offering their stylists our world-famous CHI tool technology for a brand exclusively made for the Fantastic Sams stylist.”

“We wanted to make as splash at the annual Fantastic Sams Convention,” says Stuart Feldshon. “Hairdressers and owners alike entered a raffle to win the CHI Mustang, while the owners of Dessange Group North America picked the winner out of our entry box. With the Mustang being displayed in front of the hotel for the full three days leading up to the drawing, excitement built up to the climactic drawing of the winner.”

As they continue to expand globally, Farouk Systems Inc. recently hosted a two-day event for their Latin American partners in Houston, TX. This included representatives from Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay, Nicaragua and Columbia.

Guests were greeted with opening remarks from Dr. Farouk Shami, founder and chairman, and Rami Shami, CEO, both expressing their commitment to their needs. The Farouk Systems Executive Team of Lisa Marie Garcia, president of innovations and Stuart Feldshon, president of national and international sales, also presented a sneak peak into the upcoming product launches and overall marketing strategies.

On the first day, Garcia presented the full marketing plan and the company’s new tools launches such as the Nano with NASA-inspired Nano Silver & Blue Light technology plus the new CHI Power Plus, CHI Natural with Olive Oil and Aloe Vera with Agave Nectar Curl lines. She also introduced the extension of the LAVA Tools, which will include a LAVA Hair Dryer and Extended Styling Wand.
